Internet Explorer 6.0 is a web browser developed by Microsoft Inc, available for download in full install version for Windows platforms from legacy sources. Internet Explorer 6.0 is the major IE version which captured the pinnacle of browser market with 90%. However this version was considered the most in-secured browser of all time and eventually MicroSoft has to de-market the usage IE 6.0 with a dedicated web site IE6CountDown for the campaign.

IE 6.0 dropped compatibility mode and introduced quirk mode to emulate its previous versions. Perhaps most of the browsers adapted this technology for compatibility to render poorly coded web pages which does not adhere to web standards.

IE 6.0 is equipped with automatic image resizing and Platform for Privacy Preferences Project, but dropped support for XBM image files and disabling Gopher protocol.
